Fentanyl Dealer Taken Down In Poughkeepsie By Drug Task Force, Police Say

A drug task force took down an alleged Hudson Valley fentanyl dealer after agents made several "buys" from him at several locations.

Dutchess County resident Christian Blades, age 31, of Poughkeepsie, was charged on Thursday, Oct. 24, following an investigation by the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force.

According to Det. Lt. Adam Harris of the task force agents identified Blades as a dealer and made "numerous" fentanyl purchases from him throughout the city.

Blades was charged with two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.

Harris said Blades is facing several additional charges related to this investigation.

"The Drug Task Force continues to warn members of the community that fentanyl is extremely dangerous and is one of the causes of hundreds of overdose deaths in Dutchess County over the past several years," Harris said.
